Connecting to Pensions Dashboards: Data, Deadlines and Early Successes

Trustees are being urged to act now ahead of the pensions dashboards connection deadline of 31 October 2026, with schemes already making progress. Nest, Smart Pension and XPS Group have recently reported successful connections to the dashboards ecosystem

LCP emphasises that early governance structure and strong collaboration are crucial to avoid overloading trustee meetings. Establishing a dedicated working group and maintaining a central dashboard‑governance document helps track data cleansing and calculation readiness milestones.

High‑quality member data is essential, trustees must ensure accurate “find data” (e.g. name, Email, date of birth, NI number) and clean benefit specifications so that the matching process works smoothly. The recent shift to the identity provider passing verified email addresses has opened new possibilities in the usability of data. Any inaccuracy could delay connection or result in member frustration.

All schemes with 100 or more active and deferred members at year‑end between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 fall into scope, with individual connect‑by dates set from April 2025 through to the final statutory deadline of 31 October 2026

With the first schemes already connected, and TPR warning that displayed information must be “accurate and reliable… no second chances”, trustees should act now not just to comply, but to modernise administration and improve member outcomes
